September 1996 – 21st Century Equipment, Inc. is organized to purchase the John Deere dealership in Alliance, Nebraska. Plains Implement had been owned and operated by the McAndrews family since 1949.
January 1998 – 21st Century Equipment in Alliance merges with Morrill County Implement in Bridgeport, Nebraska, which then assumes the name of 21st Century Equipment, Inc. Morrill Co. Implement had been owned and operated by the Lapaseotes and Faessler families since 1978.
August 2000 – Keith County Implement in Ogallala, Nebraska, is purchased and the name changed to 21st Century Equipment, Inc. Keith Co. Implement had been owned and operated by LD & Sherri Walker since 1986.
March 2001 – 21st Century Equipment, Inc. purchases the B&B Sales facility in Sidney, NE. At the time of the acquisition, B&B Sales was a Ford/New Holland equipment dealership. 21st Century Equipment converted the existing facility and began a John Deere dealership in the location. The Sidney area had been without a John Deere dealership for more than two years.
June 2006 – 21st Century Equipment, Inc. purchases Modern Farm Equipment Corporation. Modern Farm Equipment had been owned by Gary & Carla Cranston since 1979. In 1999, the employees also became part owners. The managers and owners jointly agreed to sell their John Deere dealership to 21st Century Equipment in the spring of 2006, with contracts being finalized in June.
January 2007 – The Bridgeport Equipment facility (former International Harvester Dealership) in Bridgeport, NE is purchased. After extensive remodeling, the Company opens up a Reconditioning Center and a Company Training Center in this downtown Bridgeport facility.
June 2007 – The Honda ATV, Motorcycle and Power Equipment franchise is purchased from Jack Anciaux in Sidney, NE. This new business is named 21st Century PowerSports and is integrated into the existing implement business in Sidney.
January 2008 – 21st Century Equipment, Inc is reorganized as a Limited Liability Company (LLC) and the new name of the Company is 21st Century Equipment, LLC.
March 2008 – The stock and assets of Midwest Farm Equipment, Inc., located in Imperial, NE are purchased by 21st Century Equipment, LLC. Midwest Farm Equipment was owned by Jerry Wood and Rodney Johnson at the time of the acquisition. The business included a Reinke center pivot dealership and is also an authorized Cummins distributor.
May 2008 – A new “John Deere Place” opens on Hwy 385, in Sidney, NE. The main facility is 34,000 square feet and an adjacent storage building adds another 5,000 square feet of storage. The facility is located on 12 acres adjacent to Highway 385, near the I-80 interchange.
June 2010 – 21st Century Equipment, LLC purchases the assets of Irrigation Specialties, a Valley Center Pivot Dealership located in Gering, Nebraska. The name is changed to 21st Century Water Technologies, LLC.
November 2010 – 21st Century Water Technologies becomes the first agricultural dealership in North America to be appointed an official John Deere Water Dealer extending their offerings to include subsurface drip irrigation and soil moisture management tools.
April 2011 – On April 28, 2011 the existing 6 locations of 21st Century Equipment, LLC, merge with the 5 locations of KayJan, Inc. KayJan was established by H.A. “Skip” and Edna Beiber in January 1952 when they purchased the assets of G&M Implement, the John Deere dealership in Cheyenne Wells, CO. The company was purchased by their son Jeff in January 1974. The company grew to six locations by the time it merged with 21st Century Equipment.
October 2013 – 21st Century Equipment acquired MV Equipment, a John Deere dealership with five locations in eastern Colorado: Sterling, Burlington, Yuma, Wray and Holyoke.
February 2014 – 21st Century Water Technologies enters into an exclusive dealership agreement with Eco-Drip Irrigation to design, install and service subsurface drip irrigation (SDI) systems on parts of a four-state area. The new relationship with Eco-Drip is intended to accelerate the introduction of large-scale SDI technology across the entire region by leveraging the existing 21st Century Equipment agricultural sales infrastructure. The agreement impacts 21st Century Equipment customers in western Nebraska and eastern Colorado, as well as parts of eastern Wyoming and western South Dakota.
January 2015 – 21st Century Equipment assumes ownership of the John Deere dealerships in Scottsbluff, Nebr. and Torrington, Wyo., formerly known as Frank Implement.
